LANGUAGE ARTS SYLLABUS - APRIL 7 - 11, 2008

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• Bring your blue (literature) books to class every day.
• TAB book order forms are due by Wednesday for interested students. Check or money order only.
• Book report is due April 16, 2008. If you lost the format, you can check my blog.
• Students have been working on an expository essay. The outline and rough draft is due this Wednesday. Please adhere to the requirements for the rough draft.
• Next official update for online grade book is April 14 at 3:00 P.M.
• SSR – Wednesday.
• This trimester there will be no retake opportunities for vocabulary quizzes.

Monday:

• Journal
• Vocabulary Lesson (words with Greek suffixes). Homework is due Thursday (write each word 5 times each and write a clear definition). Vocabulary quiz will be Monday, 4/14.

• Outline and rough draft of the expository essay are due today. Peer edit.

Thursday:

• LA Trivia
• Vocabulary homework is due today. Review for Monday’s quiz.
• Extended 6^th and 7^th period: Read and discuss in class “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and “How Odin Lost His Eye.”

Friday:

• Wacky Words Activity
• Extended 1^st and 2^nd period: Read and discuss in class “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and “How Odin Lost His Eye.”
