SYLLABUS - WEEK OF JANUARY 7, 2008

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • Persuasive essays will be returned on 1/8. Students will file in yellow writing folder or have the option to revise by Monday, 1/14. In order for revision to be considered, students must resubmit all previous work and rubric along with new and improved draft.
  • Writing Celebration! Information regarding this optional writing contest was shared with students prior to winter break. Below are reminders of due dates for students who are interested in this opportunity. You must adhere to all the requirements listed on the original handout.
Typed draft for teacher-edit is due 1/10 (optional)
Final entry: 1/15.
  • Study session is Friday @ 8:15 A.M.
  • I will be doing a journal folder check over the next 2 weeks. Make sure you are up-to-date with all journal entries and other required documents. Stay organized.

Monday:

  • Journal
  • Vocabulary Lesson #7 (standardized test prep word parts). Homework is due Wednesday: Write each word 5 times, write a clear definition, and use each of the words correctly in an original sentence.
