8-3 LA Syllabus - week October 4, 2010

LA Announcements:

• All TKAM novels will be collected on Monday, October 4th.
• TKAM packets will be collected for credit on Friday, October 8th. All pages are required to be completed except for the following: 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30.
• Study session scheduled for Friday, 10/8 @ 8:20 A.M.
• Portfolio confirmation sheets went home with my conference students last Friday.

Monday: Finish TKAM movie. TKAM literary analysis is due. Share, if time.

Tuesday: Announce extra credit (movie review) – Due Tuesday, October 12. Introduce Unit 2 (Literature book). In class: Read and discuss “An Hour with Abuela.”

Wednesday: Writing Workshop. Begin homework: Read “Who Can Replace a Man?” pgs. 247-260. Write responses to questions on 260 by tomorrow.

Thursday: Discuss literature homework. Review for tomorrow’s vocabulary quiz. Announce next novel assignment. Homework: Find a novel (any genre) by Wednesday, October 13th.

Friday: TKAM vocabulary quiz. Writing Workshop.
