OCTOBER 29 - NOVEMBER 2, 2007

Announcements:
  • (Optional) TAB book orders forms with check or money orders are due Monday, 10/29.
  • SSR (silent sustained reading) every Wednesday @ 1:30. Bring reading material.
  • If you dress up for Halloween, don’t forget to bring a canned good. Follow Halloween costume rules as outlined in your Thursday packet. These rules can also be found on district web page.
  • Please take home last month’s book report projects.
  • Study Session – Friday @ 8:15 A.M. Focus will be on practicing diagramming rules covered up to this week. If you’re having trouble with adjectives and/or adverbs, please plan on attending and see me for a pass.
  • Pennies for Pearl Harbor continues.
  • Please continue to follow the requirements on the novel assignment handout. All the assigned pages, writing requirements, and details are outlined on that sheet. Extra copies are available in classroom.


Monday:

  • Journal
  • 3rd Response journal based on novel is due today. Discuss.

Extended 6th and 7th: Continue working on novel assignment.

Tuesday:

  • LA Trivia
  • Lesson on diagramming subject complements (predicate adjectives and predicate nouns)

Extended 1st and 2nd: Continue working on novel assignment.

Wednesday:

  • Journal
  • Last response journal based on novel is due today. Discuss end of novel.
  • If time, continue lesson on subject complements.

Thursday:

  • LA Trivia
  • Wrap up discussion of novels (final word exercise).
  • Distribute handout with final novel assignment options. Please select one of the writing options to conclude our novel study. Carefully follow the directions on the handout. Due date: by Wednesday, 11/7.

Extended 6th and 7th: Read and discuss “Revolutionary Tea.” Focus on allegory, alliteration, and bias of poem.

Friday:

  • Vocabulary homework (handout) is due today.
  • Class time will be given to start working on final novel assignment or get more help on this week’s grammar lesson.
