Writing Celebration Contest (extra credit opportunity) entries are due January 12th. Adhere to the details distributed prior to winter break.

Monday: Vocabulary Lesson #7. Homework (definitions only) – due Wednesday.

Tuesday: Book Reports not submitted or presented prior to winter break are due today. Present, if applicable, or share and enjoy. Writing Workshop.

Wednesday: Review vocabulary homework. Lesson: Read and discuss “Hail and Farewell” by Ray Bradbury.

Thursday: Lesson: Read and discuss “Desertion” by Clifford D. Simak

Friday: Vocabulary Quiz #7. Writing Workshop.

8-3 LA Overview

Announcement: Book report presentations begin January 10. Follow all requirements given in December.

Monday: Distribute vocabulary list for The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. We will begin this novel next week. Bring your vocabulary list every day as you will be given time to work on this in class throughout the next few weeks. Final due date is TBA.

Tuesday: Lesson: Proper format for Science Fair source cards (due 1/7). Writing Workshop

Wednesday: Lesson: Proper format for note-taking. Bring index cards on Friday. Work on vocabulary lesson.

Thursday: Lesson: Review requirements and tips for successful oral presentation. Writing Workshop.

Friday: Source cards are due. Using COWS, begin your research and note-taking. Note cards are due 1/14.
