LA Announcements:
• You should be in the process of reading your approved self-selected novel. Book report is due 11/12/10. Bring your book to class on Wednesday.
• Vocabulary Quiz #2 retake is Wednesday @ lunch. The highest you can score on a retake is a 17/20 or B.
Monday (Extended): Vocabulary Lesson #3 (words from this week’s literature). Homework is to write a definition for each word. (due tomorrow). Writing Workshop. In-class: Read and discuss Gary Paulsen’s “Glow in the Dark” from Woodsong.
Tuesday: Review and collect vocabulary lesson. Homework for Wednesday: Read Gish Jen’s “The White Umbrella” pages 417-425 and write clear responses to questions on pg. 425.
Wednesday: Discuss story. SSR.
Vocabulary Quiz #3 is scheduled for Monday, October 25th.
