GRADES AND ASSESSMENTS
Grades will be calculated according to the percentage of total points earned of those available. Students will earn points for each assignment. Rubrics will be given for writing assignments and long-term projects.
Late work will be penalized, and absent students are responsible for making up missed work. Upon returning from an absence, first check the absence file (on bulletin board) for any missed handouts.

WEEKLY SYLLABUS/BLOG
Every Monday, you will receive a syllabus that will provide an overview of the events for that week. This will include lessons, homework, quizzes, and important team or school announcements. On Monday we will review the syllabus, and you are expected to transfer information into your planner. Bring your student planner to class every day in case there are any changes to the syllabus.
Also, I will be posting my syllabus and copies of major assignments on my blog. If there are changes to the syllabus, I will also post those on my blog. My blog address is listed at the top of this page.
Note: You will learn about other language arts expectations as we begin this trimester. If you have any questions, feel free to see me. I am here to help, and I look forward to a great school year.
