LA Announcements: Study session is scheduled for Friday @ 8:20 A.M. Pick up a pass from back table if you would like to review for vocabulary quiz. Reminder: Keep new literature book at home until the end of the year. Keep writing/grammar book in locker until it is requested to bring to class. Take great care of both brand new textbooks.
Monday: All LA materials listed on last week’s overview are due today. Introduce writing workshop expectations. First vocabulary lesson (literary terms) will be assigned. Copy words into planner. Words will also be posted on my blog. Homework is due Wednesday: Write a clear definition for each word.
Tuesday: Mini-lesson: Organizing writing workshop notebook. Check in self-selected realistic fiction novel.
Wednesday: Collect vocabulary homework. In class-first writing workshop entry.
Thursday: Return vocabulary homework and review for Friday’s matching quiz. I will distribute book report format options today. Book report is due Tuesday, October 5th.
Friday: Vocabulary quiz #1. In class-second writing workshop entry.
