Announcements:
- Information regarding online registration for 8th grade electives was mailed home last week.
- Grammar quiz is scheduled for this Wednesday. The quiz is based on the skills taught last week. Here are the pages to review for the quiz: 23-24, 47-49, 76-77, 111-113, 115-116. Don’t forget the additional practice at the end of the book.
- On Thursday, return your 2 LA textbooks (Language of Literature and Language Network) assigned at the beginning of 2nd trimester.
Monday:
- Writing Workshop final assignment is due today. Details were given to students two weeks ago and were posted on my blog. Be ready to share your final piece. You were also required to bring back your WW notebook.
- Work on Word Gatherings 6 – 8. Continue to save these in your folder.
Tuesday:
- Review for tomorrow’s quiz.
- Work on Word Gatherings 6 – 8. If not finished today, the expectation is that all 8 Word Gatherings are done by end of class tomorrow.
Wednesday:
- Grammar Quiz
- Submit 8 word gatherings.
Thursday:
- Return Word Gatherings. Today’s lesson is on how to convert word gatherings into free verse poetry. The expectation is that students will handwrite neatly in ink or type minimum 4 poems by Monday, 5/24.
Friday:
- Continue writing 4 free verse poems.
