LA SYLLABUS - WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1

Announcements:

• Thursday and Friday: Noon dismissals due to portfolio conferences (Thursday, February 4th)
• Bring novel (Flowers for Algernon) every day.
• Penny Wars sponsored by Student Council continues until February 8th. Money raised will go to relief effort in Haiti.
• No study session this week. If you need a place to read or ask questions about the book, you may come to my room at lunch. However, you must let me know that you are coming in order to get a pass. Also, if any groups need more time to work, you may also come up at lunch (limit 3 groups per day).
• Good luck Gracie M. and Henry B. whose entries were selected for the next phase of the Writing Celebration contest.

Monday:

• 1st and 2nd period: Work on group assignment (advertisement). Due Wednesday

• Extended 6th and 7th period:
• Mini-lesson on commas
• Work on group assignment
• Writing Workshop

Tuesday:

• Quiz on pages 165-188 in FFA.
• Correct page 7 in FFA packet (due today).
• Discuss this section of novel and June 24th entry in FFA

• Extended 6th and 7th: Writing Workshop

Wednesday:

• Advertisements due today. Present to class.
• Extended 1st and 2nd period: Writing Workshop

Thursday:
Period 1 and 2 only: Quiz on pages 210 -257. Discuss.

Friday:
Period 6 and 7 only: Quiz on pages 210 – 257. Discuss.

Homework:
Finish novel by February 9th.
Finish novel packet by February 10th.
