- First trimester report cards went home last Friday. Return your signed report card envelope to your advisory teacher.
- On Monday I will return last week’s vocabulary quiz. If you wish to retake (and you successfully completed last week’s homework, you may attend retake opportunity Wednesday after school. The highest grade possible on a retake is a B.
- Students were asked to sign up for book report presentations. Those students who will not be presenting their novels this week you must be ready to do so on January 4th, 2010. The book report format is posted on my blog.
- No study session this week.
- Thank you to all the students and parents of Ms. Gunnell’s and my advisory who participated in the Adopt-A-Family program!

- Oral book report presentations (for those students who signed up to complete this week).
- Vocabulary List #3 (words from our current unit). Homework: Write 5 times each and a definition by Tuesday. Extra Credit (5 points): Use all ten words correctly in a creative mini-story (150-200 words). Underline each word as you use it.

Wednesday:
Period 1 and 2 only: Finish “Desertion” and Writing Workshop
Period 6th and 7th only: Review for vocabulary quiz and begin reading and discussing “Desertion” by Clifford D. Simak
Thursday:
All classes: Vocabulary Quiz #3
Extended 1st and 2nd period only: Writing Workshop.
6th and 7th period only: Finish “Desertion.”
Friday:
20 minute rotation In the morning for all core classes: Share writing workshop pieces.
We will have a team assembly during the afternoon periods in the auditorium to watch a movie.
