Choice A
Give an informative presentation on your selected novel. Include details about the characters, setting, genre, theme, and main events of the plot. Include your overall opinion of the book with support. You may use note cards, but you still must maintain adequate eye contact. Time requirement: 1 ½ - 3 minutes.

Choice B
Pretend you are one of the characters in the novel. Through your dramatization, the audience should understand your role in the novel, your relationships with other characters, where you are from, and what happens to you throughout the entire novel. You should not use note cards. Props and costumes are encouraged, if applicable. Time requirement: 1 ½ - 3 minutes

Choice C-Partner Presentation
Read the same novel with a partner. (When you check in your novels, you must tell me that you are working together.) Decide how you would like to present the novel to your classmates. You can do one of the following:
  • Do an Ebert/Ropert-style critique of the novel. Through your evaluation of the novel, you should reveal details about the characters, setting, genre, theme, and the main events of the plot.
  • Do a dramatization as two characters from the novel. Through your dramatization, the audience should understand your roles in the novel, your relationships with other characters, where you are from, and what happens to you throughout the entire novel.
  • Conduct an author interview. One partner acts as the author and through the interviewer’s questions, you should reveal details about the characters, setting, genre, theme, and the main events of the plot.

Time requirement: 2 ½ - 4 minutes.
