- Writing Workshop final piece is due BY Friday, February 27, 2009. A copy of assignment was given to students last Thursday and is also posted on my blog.
- Be sure to return your writing workshop notebooks to the classroom this Friday.
- Last day for current core extension rotation is this Wednesday.
- Thursday and Friday-Return to your original core extension teacher. All core extension classes will be working on testing strategies.
- Next Monday – No school (Casmir Pulaski Day)
- Next Tuesday – ISAT testing begins.
- Optional for my 3rd core extension rotation: Revisions of persuasive essays are due by Monday, 2/23. Be sure to resubmit original draft and rubric.

Tuesday:
In-class: Read and discuss various poems by African-Americans.
Wednesday:
- Review results of extended response.
- In-class: Read and discuss excerpt from “The Autobiography of Malcolm X.”
Thursday:
- Practice ISAT test
- In-class: Begin reading excerpt from “The Noble Experiment” about Jackie Robinson.
Friday:
- Correct practice test
- Collect Writing Workshop final pieces.
- Finish reading excerpt from Thursday. Write short responses to assigned questions to be discussed next week.
