Announcements:
- Writing Workshop notebooks will be checked and evaluated this week. DO NOT REMOVE NOTEBOOKS FROM YOUR CRATE THIS WEEK. I will be looking for the following:
- (3) sections of notebook are properly labeled
- Section 1: All entries are dated. No missing entries. Quantity/quality of writing is evident.
- Section 2: Students have clearly labeled and added to sub-sections.
- Section 3: All notes taken in class are present.
- Yellow folders should have a minimum of 2 pieces so far (creative, lit-based assignment with rubric and book report with rubric) These should be listed on writing log on back of yellow folder. Remember, also keep a copy of any final drafts you produce in writing workshop in yellow folders.
- Thanks you to my advisory students who contributed to the Shoeboxes for Soldiers. Remember the Used Coat Drive continues until November 14th. We have 0 coats so far. Talk to your parents, and see if they can help.
- Study session this Friday @ 8:15 A.M. Focus: review for vocabulary quiz. Take a pass from back table.
- Walk Two Moons vocabulary matching quiz is this Friday: Make sure you highlighted the 15 of the 20 words from your vocabulary homework that will be on this quiz. These are still posted on front board and will be highlighted on my blog.
- Copy o f literary analysis is posted on my blog. Please adhere to all the requirements.
- You must return your assigned copy of Walk Two Moons by Thursday.
Monday:
- Optional: Submit a typed, self-edited rough draft of literary analysis for teacher feedback.
- Review definitions of words on this Friday’s quiz.
Tuesday:
- Mini-lesson: Strong titles
- Writing Workshop
Wednesday:
- Mini-lesson: Parodies
- Writing Workshop
Thursday:
- Final drafts of literary analysis are due today. Share. Return your novel.
- Begin punctuation lesson
Friday:
- Vocabulary Quiz
- Finish punctuation lesson
