Announcements:
  • Reminder: Please return your book report and rubric to your yellow folder after your portfolio conference. Update your writing log (on back of yellow folder).
  • Your assigned copy of Walk Two Moons must be returned by November 6th in perfect condition.
  • Friday @ 8:15: See me for a pass if you want extra help on your literary analysis essay on Walk Two Moons. Bring in an outline, draft, and any specific questions.
  • Picture Retake Day – October 30th.

Monday:
  • Mini-lesson: Writing a thesis statement and other tips for a successful literary analysis paper.
  • Distribute final assignment writing options. Please choose one of the writing topics and make a note of the due dates:
Optional: Submit a typed, first draft for teacher-edit (Monday, 11/3)
Final Draft: Due by Thursday, 11/6

Tuesday:
  • Quiz on pages 205-end of novel. Discussion will follow

Wednesday:
  • Vocabulary assignment and extra credit is due today.
  • In-class: Complete and submit “Moccasins” exercise.
  • Writing Workshop (no COW’s today)

Thursday:
  • Discuss yesterday’s “Moccasins” exercise.
  • Final Word – Wrap up of Walk Two Moons discussion

Friday:
  • Return vocabulary homework. Vocabulary on 15 of 20 words on Friday, 11/7. The 15 words will be announced today.
  • Writing Workshop
