Announcements:
  • Literature-based creative writing assignment was given to students last week. Students, remember to select one of the options and adhere to the requirements. Assignment is due Wednesday, 9/24. A copy of the assignment is posted below.
  • Vocabulary Quiz #3 retake opportunity is scheduled for Wednesday, 9/24 during lunch. Students who scored a C or lower can earn up to a B on a retake. It is required that you first have completed the vocabulary assignment. See me for a pass if you need to pick up your hot lunch first.
  • Continue reading your self-selected realistic fiction novel. Book Report due date: by Thursday, 10/2. Format is posted below if you lost your copy.
  • Study session is scheduled for this Friday @ 8:20 A.M. Focus: Extra review for vocabulary quiz #3. See me for a pass.
  • Picture Day order forms were given to students during advisory a few weeks ago. If you are interested in ordering pictures, students should bring in completed forms with money on Picture Day (9/23).

Monday
  • Return vocabulary quiz #3.
  • Distribution and review of Writing Basics and Research Basics. Keep in your LA take home folder and bring to class every day.
  • Vocabulary Lesson #4 (homonyms/words easily confused). Homework is due Tuesday: Write a clear definition for each word.
