- Return signed progress report and conference form to teacher listed on forms.
- Grammar pre-tests will be returned on Tuesday. Students who scored a B or lower and wish to raise their grades should attend study session this Friday @ 8:00 A.M. You will also have the opportunity to retake the test. Study grammar pages 276-279 and sections that focus on direct and indirect objects. See me for a pass and be on time.
- All persuasive essays and rubrics should be in yellow folders.

- Return graded tests and last week’s homework.
- Today we are beginning the novel portion of our science fiction and fantasy unit. Today you will receive a copy of The Giver by Lois Lowry (except for students who signed up last week for alternate novel based on prerequisites. Those students will have the same due dates but should adhere to the required information for their novel.) You will also be given a packet that contains the following: reading requirements and quiz dates, and vocabulary packet. Please do not lose this packet. Bring packet and novel to class every day, and make a note of due dates in your planner. The first due date is this Friday. Upcoming due dates are posted on my blog also.

Friday:
- Quiz on assigned reading (pages 1 – 58)
- Discuss first section of novel.
- Review vocabulary homework (pg 1 of packet) due today.
- Begin reading next section if time (next due date is Tuesday, 1/29)
