PERSUASIVE ESSAY

Students brainstormed and selected from a list of controversial topics for their persuasive essays. Remember that your goal is to persuade or convince your audience to agree with you. Take into consideration whether or not you have enough support to back up your opinion. The following are the components and requirements for this assignment:

I. Outline (10 points) Due Wednesday, 12/5

II. Rough Draft (10 points) Due Wednesday, 12/5

• Typed (double-spaced) or neatly handwritten in blue or black ink (space between paragraphs)
• Proper heading

III. Final Draft (80 points) Due Date: 12/18

• Typed, size 12 font
• Double-spaced
• Minimum 5 paragraphs
• Include a variety of transition words.
• Include Works Cited Page if outside research is conducted. You must follow the proper format for this and for internal citations. Use Research Basics and class notes for the proper format.
• You must resubmit the rough draft and outline when the final copy is submitted.
